The ability to see the big picture and a keen eye for detail – this combination defines the daily work of Plant Manager Carlo Sieberath. Since 2023, he has been responsible for the sites in Luxembourg and Belgium in this role. His career at Faymonville began in 2009 in fixture construction, before he moved to product development two years later. He spent five years in this department – a period that shaped him both professionally and personally. In 2016, Carlo Sieberath took on his first leadership role as team leader in final assembly in Luxembourg. Two years later, he advanced to production manager. His career path combines technical expertise with extensive experience in production, organisation, and personnel management. On a personal level, Carlo Sieberath lives in East Belgium with his wife and two young daughters. His free time is primarily dedicated to his family. He finds balance from his professional routine through DIY projects around the house and running.

In conversation with Carlo Sieberath

What does your daily work as Plant Manager look like between production, planning, and coordination?

My daily work is mainly about creating the right framework conditions so that production, logistics, engineering, and administration can work together efficiently. A key part of my role is the continuous improvement of our processes. It’s about questioning every day how we can make things simpler, more efficient, or better. No two days are the same.

Is there such a thing as „routine“ in your job at all?

Of course, there are some routines: regular meetings, key performance indicators, and planning processes. At the same time, new challenges arise every day that require quick decisions. It is exactly this combination that makes the role so diverse and exciting.

What is more challenging: technology, time pressure, or managing people?

Clearly, managing people. Technical issues can usually be solved with expertise and experience. When many different people with different perspectives and expectations work together, communication, understanding, and sometimes patience are required. This makes the role demanding, but also particularly interesting.

Which qualities are especially important to be successful as a Plant Manager?

A sense of responsibility, strong communication skills, and decisiveness are essential. However, implementation strength is just as important. It is not enough to have good ideas – you also need to drive things forward and deliver results. Anyone who only manages the status quo will not be successful in the long term. You must constantly look for improvement opportunities and actively shape change.

What is the best advice you have ever received – and from whom did it come?

„Make decisions in time rather than perfectly!“ I have taken this idea from several leaders throughout my career. Not every decision will be perfect in hindsight, but standing still is rarely the better option.

What makes you particularly proud in your work?

It is a special feeling to see our vehicles on the road and know that they were developed, produced, and assembled by our teams. In those moments, I often think about the people behind them and the contribution each individual has made.
